The California Bike Challenge is your opportunity to track your bicycling mileage during May. It’s part of the National Bike Challenge, a campaign to get a total of 50,000 people to ride 10 million miles between May 1 and Aug. 31, 2012.
Joining the challenge is easy: Register with your name, email address and zip code (you can also create a profile, if you want), then start logging your miles.
When you join you’ll be entered in a free drawing to win gear for bike commuters, including a PUBLIC V7 seven-speed commuter bike ($595 value) and other commuter-friendly prizes, including:
- Upstand Bicycle Stand ($39 value)
- Kryptonite Modulus 1018S lock system ($30 value)
- Planet Bike Spok LED micro headlight ($14.99 value)
- Planet Bike BRT Strap light ($15.99)
How it works
Join the California Bike Challenge and log mileage during May — that’s all! No fees, nothing to buy. Even if you’re riding as part of a team, you qualify for the free drawing.
In June, we’ll draw names at random from among those who logged miles during May. Maybe even yours!
